Our most heat tolerant varieties!

Italian oyster (Pleurotus pulmonarius) is a heat-tolerant variety of the oyster mushroom; it can do relatively well in heatwaves up to 85F/29.4C however it prefers a bit cooler. The reproductive structure (mushroom) of Pleurotus Pulomarius stands strong through a heatwave better than Pleurotus ostreatus; however, at the agricultural innovations and solutions center, we are still unsure if it will survive a Canadian winter, unlike Pleurotus ostreatus. Our most heat-tolerant varieties in the genus Pleurotus are Sakura oysters (Pleurotus Djmor) and Golden oysters (Pleurotus Citrinopileatus). These species grow well in 91f/32.8C but may die at temperatures under 55F/12.8C; along with our almond mushroom (Agaricus blazei) as they are tropical varieties!
